Not sure where to put this. I have a question on modifying script. I would like the tabs to be in different colors and also the tags on each note to match tabs to category they are in. Thanks.

    Sir,
In the new version, can the todo lists be exported via standard rss. My rss reader is not able to recognize the feed url.
    Thanks

    • Max Pozdeev says:

Yes, you can export RSS feed. I’ve tested in Google Reader.
Which rss client do you use?

      • Sam says:

Thanks for the update, the problem was in my rss client at android “minimal reader” it could not read https rss links.
        cheers

      • Bryan says:

        Max,

Is it possible to get the todo list with a more advanced editor for notes? I have tried to integrate a couple of the free Rich Text editors out there in PHP, but always with the same result.

Whatever the first note I click on gets the text in the RT editor, but then every note has the same text in the editor.

        Any suggestions??

        Bryan

Any way to make the name of the chosen list shown when doing a print? If you go to print preview in IE or Firefox, or just go ahead and print it you don’t have the list title. Any way to make it so it will say the name of the list the items are from at the top? I’d say this is a worthy addition to consider πŸ™‚

  16. Petr says:

Here is just a small hint from my daily practice with myTinyTodo.
The most effective sorting order for me is prio DESC, d_created DESC

in ajax.php add following code somewhere around line 88 and set “sorting” to be 5 in table lists):

    elseif($sort == 5) $sqlSort .= “prio DESC, d_created DESC”; // byPrioDateCreated

  17. akaroot says:

    Very good ToDo Manager!
But VERY lacking wysiwyg editor for notes.

    Please, realize that opportunity

  18. Chad says:

Very much enjoying MyTinyTodo. Light, fast, and importantly, actively developed and able to be installed on my own host. I sued to use tasktoy (tasktoy.com), but it stopped being developed and I was always afraid it would just go away. Especially when the developer started having connection issues. It did have a few nice things though. Each project or list had a color, and items were listed in that color, so you could also look at a list of everything and easily see the context. And you could easily set due dates like ‘next month’ or ‘every friday’ and it would understand that and hide it until it was due (and repeating items would go away when checked off, but return ‘every friday’). So I thought I’d share those feature ideas with you, and if you like them you could implement them, but if you don’t, that;s okay too, because mytinyTodo is already better in many ways.

  19. codex73 says:

I just installed the MyTinyTodo. Having the difficulty figuring out why completed tasks vanish from view. Using IE9.

Any way to work around this or the script is intended to work like that? IE9 issue?

  20. Milan says:

    Hi Max,

is it possible to use the application in a multi-user mode?
    thx

    • Max Pozdeev says:

      Actually, no.

      • Milan says:

any plans to make it multi user?

        • Max Pozdeev says:

          Yes, i will.

          • Jeremy says:

I love your program and honestly beleive it is the best to-do/task manager around because it is sooooo damn simple.

When/if you add the mult-user capabilities to it, please keep it simple and try not to turn it into an over-barring project management sweet -> REDMINE, etc.

          • Gary says:

I also would like to see multi-user capabilities added as a feature request. This is a very easy and friendly program to install and use. Thank you!

          • lj says:

Voting +1 for multiuser, a very basic user management would be appreciated.

Also, consider optional authentication using LDAP. This will help small teams on windows networks to share todo (in case of LDAP authentication no user system would be needed, as users can be authenticated via the LDAP)

Is it possible to columnise the lists yet? I asked this question some time ago but I don’t think it was possible then.

What I want to do is create a different column for each stage of a task, eg: Expired tasks on the left, today’s tasks or tasks with no set due date in the centre and future tasks on the right.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • Max Pozdeev says:

I think this is still not easy to achieve. You want to have 3 lists, while MTT works with only one.

      • Richard M says:

Thanks max. Continue the fantastic job. I wish I were a js developer because this project is one I’d love to contribute to.

  23. Franciel Dors says:

Yes Fraciel. In my opinion, this structure would simplify MTT even further especially for those with multiple users.

    Man!

From thinking on having a todo list on my webpage to having it installed in no time, your work was great!

Thanks very much for this fine piece of art.

One thing I have not managed to find out is what (may be tag) needs to be done to have something appear as a public task (before logging in).

    Thanks again for your time.

  42. Hedy says:

Small suggestion for a new version : could it be possible to add an option on the setup page, to choose if a new entry in a todo-list be placed on the top of the list, or on the bottom ?

It’s logical to put the new entry on the bottom of the list, but in my case, I generaly want them on the top (so I have to move it from bottom to top manually after publish)
Maybe a small radio button on the right of the main input case (top/bottom) could be appreciable !

    Thanks πŸ™‚

    Hi Max,

Thanks for a fantastic, wonderfully minimal “to do” solution. I’ve installed it on my server and it’s working great. Just one issue so far and a couple of enhancement requests:

    Issues:
It appears that the autotagging isn’t working in my installation. I have enabled this in the settings and all other functions appear to work okay – any suggestions about where to look to fix this?

    Enhancements:
    – The Tag cloud doesn’t resize for a term if the task has been completed (this can lead to tags being in the cloud that are no longer in the β€œopen” list of tasks.)
    – Would it be possible to look at allowing drag-and-drop of a task into another tab?
    – Autofill of tags when using the β€œsmart syntax” eg. if I start typing /+1/Important task /wi it will offer a dropdown list of possible tags starting with wi (similar to Google’s autocomplete suggestions)
    – How far off is the multiple user version? If you need any help with Beta testing this functionality I’d be more than happy to do so

Thanks again for a great product!

    Tom

Wonderful work. Keep it as simple as possible. I understand its aim is for personal use (even if a multi-user version would conserve the spirit !)
I would like to know if you plan to add a few options like :
    cross-list search ?
    cross-list tags selection ?
I know it is possible by viewing all tasks, but I am sure the quickest (less clicks) is the best for this kind of tool.

Do you plan to do that by adding a new task automatically send an email to the user? This is fine if several people use the program to perform tasks in the group.

On the other hand, would be great if you could publish a public RSS, but not visible from the main site, ie a kind of private RSS, with a URL hard to find, for example:

    http://www.domain.com/rss/f76sdf87sd6876ad8f6s8da6gf87sd67fds6t345

    Again, congratulations on your application!

  49. Nick says:

Is there anyway to remove the inputbox quickly somewhere in the code. As it is next to the expand arrow it is just to easy to delete a task. I rather prefer the manual method of clicking on the right side of the tag and explictly select the delete option.

  50. HaCos says:

This a very good work! well done! Does public tasks work? How can we create ones?

  51. Mesut says:

  54. ScottM says:

Just wanted to say thanks for a fantastic, lightweight tool. I use this both for personal use and for client-work for small, web-based projects.

There’s little I’d change, perhaps the ability to upload attachments (for tasks which are bug reports etc), but that’s about it.

  55. Gourav says:

When are you planning to shot new release ?

  56. Samuel says:

thank you for the wonderful script…any news on the next major update!

  57. skc says:

Great job. The best todo list system I have ever found.

  58. Peter G says:

A great script! I’m shocked! … And yet, I would like to add features:
    – Copy of the task between lists (not just move).
    – Add one column (who / whom / how many).

    Thank you!

  59. Alex says:

Hey, i’ve created a github project and plan to continue the work on this project, because i love the tool. For feature requests or bugs you may contact me.

  60. Gangesh says:

Hello Max, are you still developing this software?
Its simple great. The thing that will make is user system, where admin can assign different tabs to different user with modes like ‘Read Only’ or ‘Editor’. Let me know if any contribution is required.
    Looking forward to it.

  61. Naomi says:

    Hello guys,
first, sorry for my bad english…
so on: i want to use this not as a fumktionaly todo list. the design and edit funktions are pretty what im searching for. what i doesnt need, and i cant find it in the source code, is the checkboxes to done the entries. can somebody told me, where they are, so i can move it to display:none? thanks a lot!
    hopefully: naomi

  62. mike says:

    is the project still alive?

  63. Paul says:

I really like the latest update, i really wish we could introduce the concept of assignment, that is once you enter team members “Names” filterable you create a task and assign it to a person, at the moment I have to use the tabs for that.
    Paul

  64. James E. says:

Is there any further development being done on MyTinyTodo? Or is this project as is?

  65. J. Newing says:

Does $config[‘allow’] = “read”; not work anymore? I would really like a way to allow public users to read the todo list however only people with the password to add/update/edit items.

  66. FS says:

Any new updates coming soon? Just curious to know if so.

  67. Evan says:

If we can login with a username and a shared password (like Dradis Framework), mytinytodo will become a wonderful tool for small team cooperating! I hope you will consider my proposal.

  68. bruce says:

when I setup ,why it always say:”unkown database”? what’s wrong?

  69. Hans says:

I really love your to do list.
Are there any updates coming ? Would be n1 to have some themes to choose ( I hate designing πŸ™‚ )

  70. Scott says:

Loving this script. Big problem with setting a password, though, as it’s stored in clear text in the config file. Easy enough to fix, although a better solution is probably needed for the long term. Add the md5() function on the following lines:

    ajax.php: line 292: $password = md5(_post(‘password’));

    settings.php: line 25: if(isset($_POST[‘password’]) && $_POST[‘password’] != ”) Config::set(‘password’, md5($_POST[‘password’]));

    Thanks!

  71. Scott says:

I would dearly love a ‘/feed.php?list=all’ option, to feed all published lists in a single query. When trying to keep multiple people updated with a changing number of lists, having to constantly update the reader with list IDs (added and deleted) is a chore.

  72. Scott says:

Several have asked for multi-user. Until it is made available, I’ve simply installed multiple copies. For example:

    /todo/bob
    /todo/john
    /todo/karen
    /todo/scott

Each user sets their own password and controls their own lists, what’s published vs not published, etc.

Then, to simplify navigation, I create a modified theme, starting with a copy of the ‘default’ them:

    /todo/USERNAME/themes/mytheme

In the index.php, I change the following lines:

    as follows:

    Bob |
    John |
    Karen |
    Scott |

Hope that helps some of you (until there’s a real multi-user version, at least!)

  73. Scott says:

Could we have an option to make individual items on a list ‘private’ so even if the list is published those items will not be published?

Would love to have multiple notes, stored/displayed chronologically, for list items.

It would also be very helpful to have an option for a list item to allow someone other than the owner (when security is enabled) to add notes.

An indicator on a list tab (and list item if the above is implemented) to show what’s published and what’s private.

    Thanks!

  74. Scott says:

One last item. In a minor not toward using MTT for rudimentary quick&dirty, small project management, it would be helpful to have add/modify/due/complete dates on both the list (tab) and the task (list item). Along with a status field (New, Started, Waiting, On-Hold, Review, Complete, Cancelled, etc.) No fancy interactions, just places to capture that info.

It would, however, be nice to be able to set the status options (as will as the priority values for the existing priority field) in the config file.

    Thanks!

  75. Julien says:

Do you still plan on updating the app? One thing would be nice to have is to have it receive todos via email .. (I think it is the only feature I have really missed)

  81. Mario says:

Max, appreciate your Work on this todo list, but as the last Version is quite a while back, I would be interested if you are still working on a Multi-User implementation.

  93. Al says:

There is a bug that I’ve confirmed in your demo site, if you select the checkbox to say a task is done, it deletes the task instead.

This does not happen on the may todo list, but for any other list it just deletes the item and you cannot find it anymore

    otherwise, this todo list rocks.

    Thank you.

  97. yusuf says:

Hi. its really awesome but I need help to make it for multi user. The users are already accesing to my other pages with php session. So, where can I add to “WHERE user = $user” to the primary sql query. Sorry I’m not good in php. Thanks for help.

  98. lj says:

It will be nice when tasks are done (click on checkbox) that they do not disappear but get crossed over (so to see what is done).

This is specially important when todo list is shared among couple of people working on the same tasks.

if it is implemented in this way some new views will be interesting for example show/hide done tasks.

finally it would be nice to have “clean-up” function that actually delete done tasks at one go.

  99. Willy says:

Hello and thank you very much for this great tool! the demo looks just like what i need. unfortunately I am unable to install it. I setup a MySQL Database uploaded mytinytodo to the webserver, but somehow i cannot properly execute the setup.php. after I specify the access information to the DB and click next, all i get is a blank screen. What might be the reason?

    • Willy says:

in case ever anyone has the same problem: try calling on the setup.php from an IP outside your LAN. that’s what fixed it for me… for peculiar reasons i dont understand…

  100. Peter says:

    Dear Max Pozdeev

I installed mytinytodo last night. It is really a great online GTD tool for me: small, simple and interface in a very GTD way!
This tool will be completely perfect to me if it has following functions
    * dealing with recurring tasks
    * a very simple notification function such as pop-up window or sending a notification email

I wonder if you have any plan to add above functions?

Thank you again for your great work

  113. Pedro says:

Thanks for this tool! It works great!
As a suggestion, it would be good to have a “text” field for filling some information when the task is marked as done. It would be useful for texts like this “this work was solved and commited to the repository of project ABC”.

    Next version of myTinyTodo

I am using your ToDo application and it fits nearly perfect to my needs.

What i am missing is the functionality to have an email notification for the due dates.
I found a solution here, but i will try to write a new better one in perl.
    http://error-success.piku.org.uk/2010/11/13/mytinytodo-email-notification-script/

Additionally i am missing a feature to have repeating events.
Like no, daily, weekly, monthly, quarter, year.
(It could be coded as one char in the database.)

It would be helpful too, to have a field with the number of days to remind before the due date.
Like setting 2 will remind two days before the date and 0 will not.

So there are additional 2 fields in the table todolist needed.
This is not the problem, but i am not good in PHP programming,
so would it be possible that you can add this fields to the frontend?

I will write the perl script that checks daily the due dates and will send an email notification.
It can simply be added to the daily cron scripts in Linux.

Then we would get together a new version 1.4.3 or 1.5.0

  121. Mike says:

Hello, i found your great webtool today (yes it’s 2016) via Google =)

Did you still working on this project? I’ve some little proposals:

    – an option to add an attachment to the task.
    – if a new comment is added to the Task, the date/time of the comment should be auto-insert to the text.

    Thanks a lot.

  125. Juanma says:

My congratulations for this application, is the best that I could find to organize my tasks. I keep all my tasks and works in this application so that it serves as a historical and to be able to consult when I want some tasks carried out some time ago. My question is if there is any possibility of inserting pagination into the task list. I have more than 8000 registered tasks and the list becomes very long. Please, could someone tell me which code I would have to insert and in what file to be able to do a pagination of eg show 50 or 100 tasks instead of all the content at once?
Thank you very much in advance…
